Meet the Team

Josh now operates as Golf Division Manager at Hartman Companies, where his extensive experience of over twenty years is transforming the game of golf. He leads a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring that each course is crafted to the highest standard. Josh's vision and leadership continue to drive the success of Hartman Companies, making every course a testament to excellence in golf landscaping. In his free time, Josh enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and children.

Seth, a native of Chaska, MN, and current resident of Carver, MN, has been the cornerstone of our team since 2012. His leadership is defined by the daily challenges that come with the territory, which he navigates with an experienced team. Seth's expertise shines in creating stunning hardscapes, always with an eye for the essential drainage solutions that these projects demand. Seth is not only a CMHA Certified Concrete Paver Installer but also a family man at heart. When he's not transforming landscapes, he's cherishing time with his wife Sahra and their four children, coaching their sports teams, or enjoying the outdoors; boating, riding ATVs, or making maple syrup, he lives life to the fullest.

Hartman Companies welcomed Christie to their team in 2013. Christie possesses a deep passion for trees and has dedicated herself to nurturing and preserving the beauty of the outdoors. Her academic background has equipped her with a solid foundation of knowledge, combined with her practical experience, allows her to make informed decisions regarding our tree collection and overall garden center management. In her free time, you might find her on a lake sailing or skiing down a slope in the winter. She has also dedicated a lot of her time to creating an interactive and educational one mile nature trail around her property where she has identified and labeled over 30 species of trees!

Melanie has been instrumental as the Accounting Manager at Hartman Companies since 2021. With a rich background that marries accounting management with human resources, she thrives in creating a welcoming team environment. Her belief in a balanced life resonates deeply with the core values of Hartman Companies, fostering a sense of community and growth. Outside the office, Melanie's zest for life shines through her love for travel, home remodeling, and her cherished moments spent with family and friends.

Steve brings a dynamic blend of enthusiasm and experience to our team. Hailing from Owatonna, Steve joined our family in 2024 and is an integral part of our operations. Each day presents new challenges which he approaches with a strategic mind and a smile. Steve's favorite aspect of his role is the camaraderie and collective spirit of the team at Hartman, which he believes is the cornerstone of our success. In addition, Steve is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS). His leadership promotes operational excellence and fosters a collaborative work environment where all are valued and motivated.

Since 2016, David has been a Landscape Designer at Hartman Companies. He enjoys the opportunity to develop and create spaces where people can live and make lasting memories. David has a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Studies and is also a certified landscape professional with the MNLA and certified paver installer with the CMHA. Outside of work, David enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children or spending time playing golf, hunting, and fishing.

Jake is Hartman Companie's dedicated Logistics and Business Development manager. Hailing from Carver, MN, Jake joined our team in 2020 and has since been an integral part of our growth. Jake's expertise lies in overseeing various aspects of client projects and transforming the mundane task of managing spreadsheets.  With a keen eye for efficiency and a deep passion for success, Jake thrives on enhancing our operations and finding innovative solutions that drive our company forward. Outside of office hours, Jake is all about family and an avid sports enthusiast. He brings the same level of teamwork and dedication into his personal life as he does at work, making for the ultimate team player on both fronts.

Dan has been an essential part of our team at Hartman Companies for over 10 years. His unique and valuable background as a golf professional help him and his team craft the highest quality courses around. Dan brings a passion and knowledge of the game that is infectious to everyone he works with. In his free time, Dan enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and children.

Paul has been a cornerstone of the Hartman team since 2020. With a knack for problem-solving, he ensures every piece of equipment operates at peak performance. Certified as a Minnesota State DOT Inspector, Paul's expertise is not just in maintenance but also in ensuring compliance and safety. When he's not fine-tuning engines or diagnosing mechanical puzzles, Paul is an avid outdoorsman and family man. Whether it's the quiet patience of fishing or the thrill of the hunt, he finds solace and adventure in nature. Paul's dedication to his craft and his love for the great outdoors make him a valued member of the Hartman family.

Jessica joined Hartman Companies in summer 2022.  With a passion for aesthetics and a keen eye for detail, Jessica is dedicated to sourcing high-quality materials and supplies for our clients. Her favorite part of her job is the opportunity to learn something new every day! In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her family, which tends to keep her quite busy.   

Meet Sarah, Hartman Companies Administrative Assistant.  You can always count on her to greet you with a sunny disposition and a warm smile when you stop by the office.  Sarah's role is pivotal in guiding new employees through the onboarding process creating a team. Sarah's proficiency extends to bookkeeping, managing calendars, and handling the myriad of tasks that come her way. Outside the office, Sarah enjoys spending time baking tasty treats and spending time with her family at their cabin, where she indulges in her love for the outdoors.

Max joined Hartman Companies in the spring of 2022. Originally, Max worked with us as a designer where he was able to use his education and background in the landscape industry to develop unique and vibrant residential landscapes. Eventually, Max decided to pursue a lifelong passion for aviation and begin the process of becoming a licensed airline pilot. We are thankful that throughout his pursuit of aviation, Max has stuck with us and continues to utilize his skills and vision to further develop our marketing efforts.
